Responsible Tourism in Kenya

The consciousness in the world of travel is rising and tourists want to engage more in the destinations they visit.

Tourists are thinking about how they can do something positive. Kenya as a country offers some of the best meaningful ways for its visitors to do exactly that.

Name          Kiajata

Responsible tourism in Kenya is a marvellous way of making a positive difference through travel. You return home refreshed, carbon-neutral and culturally enriched, with memories to last a lifetime.

Becoming a responsible tourist in Kenya is a matter of choosing the right accommodation and travel programs, there are plenty of choices, as you'll find youth hostels and safari camping sites in Kenya perfect places to stay for overnights as they have very little to interfere with the natural environment.

Just by staying at these destinations, you can ensure minimal impact on the environment, maximum positive social spinoff, and a feel-good factor all round.

In Kenya the people whose culture, land and labour are used for tourism should get their fair share of the rewards. Their knowledge, heritage and natural resources make their destination unique.

Fair Trade in Kenya tourism humanises responsible tourism. A holiday in this country becomes richer, more real, more local."

Voluntourism.

Be a voluntourist in Kenya and leave impressions!

Do you believe in conservation?

Would you like to conserve Mount Kenya forest?

Would you like to spearhead efforts in conserving Mt Kenya forest and its snow-capped peaks?

Mt Kenya 2Mt Kenya 3Mt Kenya 4Mt Kenya 5

If your answer to these questions is yes, then be part of the many volunteers with the heart to leave good impressions to our future generations by saving MT Kenya snow and forest from extinction.

There are concerted efforts by Kenya youth hostels association and the Kenya voluntary and community development project that’s joint efforts is to green the Mount Kenya and restore its lost glory, this is proving a success.

We are offering volunteers a chance for a hands on experience by personally contributing to and important community project in Mt Kenya by planting trees as you climb or take a trekking tour of the mountain which over the years seem to be losing at a very alarming rate its most attractive snow due to global warming.

Most of which has been caused by human due to illegal logging of trees which has caused loss of wildlife and water most rivers from its source have dried up but this is something that requires human intervention to correct and restore for the betterment of our future generations.

This program can be done by everyone going up the mountain on his or her way up and or down get to plant at least a tree or more and if this trend is maintained thousands of travellers climbing MT Kenya on a budget  can be asked to plant a tree of their choice and in about a couple of years ,lots of trees would be coming up and the beauty of it is that one tree per hiker is more than appreciated we will have the mountain as a heritage site for Kenya and we can pride ourselves with its success.

Join this by booking a tour to MT Kenya and get to plant a tree or trees on your way up or down trees will be provided free with this package and you will have played your part.

You can as well choose to take the option for volunteer travel for a week or two and you can spend time in the forest planting trees.
